Why Harmony is one of the best new housing estates on the Sunshine Coast
Harmony welcomed its first family in January 2018. Three years on, more than 3500 residents have settled into the masterplanned community in Palmview – a quarter of the number expected to live here within the next two decades.
Dwyer clients Alex and Jayne are among those who now call Harmony home. Last February, they relocated from inner-city Brisbane to the Coast to be closer to work, buying one of Dwyer Quality Homes’ beautiful parkfront terraces.
The happy couple say they chose Harmony because “the style of housing, the extensive green space, the walking and cycle paths and the future urban plans really appealed to us”.
In fact, they were so impressed with the quality and ease of the building process, and the solid investment prospects on the Coast, that they’ve decided to buy an investment property through Dwyer.
“Having lived at Harmony for almost 12 months,” says Jayne, “we see the value of investing in this area and the attractiveness of this type of property to the rental market.”
In my experience, Jayne is spot-on. My advice to investors is: always buy in desirable locations where demand is highest. As far as new housing estates go, Harmony fits that bill. Here are some of the reasons why.

LOCATION
Ideally located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, between the hinterland and the coast – the nearest beach is just 15 minutes away.
Easy access from Brisbane (about 60 minutes) in the south and Noosa (50 minutes) to the north via the Bruce Highway (M1), which is being upgraded to include direct access to Harmony.
Close to major centres such as Maroochydore (30 minutes), Moolalaba (20 minutes), Buderim and Caloundra (15 minutes), all offering cafes, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and more.
NEIGHBOURHOOD
Harmony is a masterplanned community being developed by AVID Property Group, with a focus on “neighbourhood values”, “community spirit” and “connectedness”.
When it’s completed, the onsite Harmony Town Centre will be a modern village hub featuring major retail and specialty shops, along with commercial businesses, cafes and restaurants.
